The sculpture depicts a nurse sitting on a bench, with a two-meter space for social distancing, and is made with keys with the job titles of key workers engraved into them.

Taking to social media, Observer readers shared their thoughts on the new installation.

Jane Towers said: "What a clever idea and a fitting memorial to all those hardworking people risking their lives."

Jane Chitty: "Can’t wait to see it - what a beautiful tribute to our local key workers we are all in their debt. Thank you to the artist."

Brad Ainsworth said: "Local piece, by a local person for the local economy. What’s not to like about it? Stark reminder of what we’ve all had to endure as we ease out of lockdown and more so to those who were on the front line during this hellish time; as we remember the true hero’s of Covid. Congrats to the artist I say."
