Kady sadly lost her grandmother Maureen King to the disease in 2009.

It is hoped that ticket sales for the three-bedroom bungalow, owned by former Olympic snowboarder Jan Michaelis, will raise £50,000 for charity.

Kady said: “Nan was the rock of our family. As soon as we got the diagnosis, she went downhill and died within four weeks.

“She was the best nan ever. My dad wasn’t around when I was growing up so it was like I had two mums.

“Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1 per cent of the national spend on cancer research has historically been allocated to this devastating disease.

“Brain Tumour Research has faced a loss of income due to the cancellation and postponement of many fundraising events during the pandemic, but the need for research remains as important as ever.

“Within the first eight weeks of the prize draw running, ticket sales have generated £10,000 for charity.

“Imagine how much could be raised by the time it closes on 6 February 2021.

“In 2017 I ran the Great Manchester 10k for the charity, raising more than £2,000. I am delighted to offer my support to this amazing cause.”

The modern seaside bungalow comes complete with a one-bedroom garden cabin that is ideal for a holiday rental.

It is within walking distance of the blue flag beaches at East Head, which are ranked among Britain’s most beautiful, and it is situated in a National Trust Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Jan and his wife Alina selected two charities to donate proceeds of the raffle to – Brain Tumour Research and Surfers Against Sewage.

Jan, 42, originally from Hamburg, Germany, said: “We decided to raffle off our property for a variety of reasons.

“With Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, charities are in desperate need for help, so we thought we could raise some vital cash for two charities that are close to our hearts, we therefore are giving 10 per cent of net ticket sales to charity.

“We have friends that have battled with a brain tumour, yet research into this is greatly under-funded so we chose Brain Tumour Research to donate funds to.

“We have also experienced pollution in the ocean first-hand, which is why we selected Surfers Against Sewage.

“After such a difficult year for so many people, we loved the idea of creating a fun raffle that will see someone unexpectedly win a beautiful, mortgage-free house by the beach.

“The property is located in the hugely sought-after village of West Wittering, with short walks to award-winning sandy beaches and harbour fronts. It’s an idyllic life.

“The surge in staycations also means that a lot of people are not travelling abroad, so with the additional cabin within the grounds the winner could not only own a mortgage-free house, but also acquire a side income too.”

The property has an en-suite bathroom to the master suite and an open-plan living room and dining area with large sliding doors to a side garden.

A modern kitchen overlooks the back garden with patio doors that lead to a large terrace for al fresco dining.

Hidden behind a fence at the back of the garden there is a one-bedroom cabin, with en-suite toilet, kitchenette and a large patio with a hot tub jacuzzi.

The couple will pay for conveyancing costs incurred by the winner, up to a maximum of £1500, and Stamp Duty up to a maximum of £15,000.

The first year of running expenses and Council Tax, that is due after the date of completion, will also be paid up to a maximum of £2,000.

The prize draw needs to sell 240,000 tickets.

In the event that the minimum number of entries is not achieved, the prize will consist of 75 per cent of the proceeds of the competition once the organisers’ costs and expenses and a donation to charity have been deducted.

The cash prize is already at £60,000.

The competition closes on Saturday February 6, 2021.
