Participants can walk five or 10 miles during the Moonlight Walk Week, with these two distances breaking down into either 10,000 or 20,000 steps.

Those seeking to become superstar walkers can complete the challenge in their own time, at their own pace - at a time of day that suits them.

Chief Executive Alison Moorey said: “We are committed to the safety of all our supporters who do such amazing things to fundraise for the vital end of life care we provide our community.

“With this in mind, we have made the decision to adapt the usual walk given the current times we live in and have created a virtual Moonlight Walk Week.”

The walk can take place in your own home and garden, or be completed as part of your daily exercise, dependent on the latest government advice.

Once registered, St Wilfrid’s will send you a supporter pack, full of advice and support on how to complete the challenge and fundraise virtually.

Before the event week, you’ll also receive an exclusive 2020 Moonlight Walk t-shirt to wear on your walk.

Along the way the hospice in Bosham will be sharing pictures, video and mail to keep you motivated and share with you the difference your collective efforts are making. Sign up here.

By reaching the £60 fundraising target, you’ll also earn a special edition 2020 Moonlight Walk medal after the event.

These funds alone could support a home visit to a terminally ill patient and more than two hours of care by a St Wilfrid’s Nurse Specialist.

Sammie Paice, walking in Moonlight Walk Week 2020 in memory of her mum Sally, said: “Within three days of being referred to St Wilfrid’s, we witnessed a huge change in mum. With her pain and mobility being properly managed, she had a quality of life we hadn’t experienced in months. The care we received there enabled us to form memories we can cherish for a lifetime.”

Now more than ever, the money you raise will support the future of hospice care in our community.

David Adams from sponsor Henry Adams estate agents said: “We are delighted to support the Moonlight Walk Week 2020 because St Wilfrid’s means so much to so many local families.

“The dedicated staff provide vital care to many in our local community when it’s needed most, so join us during the Moonlight Walk Week and let’s make it a fundraising event to remember.”
