Laura has been engaged to Michael Hart, 33, for five years and the couple have been together for six and a half years. Michael works in Storrington as an assembly fitter for a company called Tesla Engineering.

Laura entered the competition after seeing it on her trust’s intranet site.

She said: “I thought why not, let’s give it a whirl.

“We have been saving for our wedding for the past couple of years and as we all know it life got in the way and we had to use our savings for "more practical/important" things such as a brand new roof for our house. The house needs a lot of updating we have managed to have a total rewire and new roof and finally as of last month a luxurious combi boiler, as our heating stopped working at the beginning of the Covid pandemic, - it will be a brand new house by the time we finish it - a slow work in progress but so lucky to call ourselves home owners.”

The couple were looking at getting married in 2022, and were planning something low key - a small wedding and ‘nothing like this amazing gift we have been given’ Laura says.

Natalie Day, who owns Night and Day Entertainment with her husband Trevor, said: “Each of the suppliers chose a person who they felt deserved to be in the finals. The suppliers were asked to choose someone that they were drawn to and felt a personal connection with. Laura was chosen by our magician, Adam and his wife Jaclyn (PA). Laura was chosen at random from our final 16.”

As for the wedding the only detail the couple have already agreed is that their dog Baxter will be a ringbearer.

On winning Laura said: "It felt amazing, I felt so honoured as a radiographer our profession is always hidden in the background so to even been considered let alone win an amazing competition it is life changing.

"Through COVID things have been extremely tough and for everyone it has been the fear of the unknown and change however this competition has brought hope back in my life - it's a little bit of magic that has given us something to look forward to. I am so grateful as I just see us a standard, normal couple who work hard and enjoy the jobs that we do.

"Never in my mind did I consider we would win this dream of a wedding."
