Rail engineers are attending a ‘reported track defect’ today (Saturday February 6), which has affected the line between Sussex and London Victoria.

The emergency engineering work is taking place between Gatwick Airport and East Croydon, with services heavily disrupted in the region.

Southern Rail said the number of services running through the affected area had to be reduced, leading to the disruption.

Gatwick Express is running a reduced service, while some Victoria to Brighton services are not running at all.

Disruption is set to continue until at least 2pm.
