DO YOUR cabbages deserve credit and are your sweet peas prizewinners?
If so then the Mundham and District Flower Show needs you on Saturday, July 14 where there are more than 70 classes open for entries including flowers, fruit, vegetables, cooking, arts and crafts.
Show manager Celia O’Shea said: “The gala is a big event in the area every year.
It is an opportunity for local people to show off their prize produce and their remarkable skills in horticulture, cooking and the arts, as well as having a fun afternoon enjoying the gala itself.
“We are delighted to offer more than 26 trophies for the winners of each class, including eight for junior entries.”
As well as the show, there will be a host of events and stalls to peruse during the afternoon including a dog show, Morris dancing, mini sports day and various refreshments.
Judging of the flower show exhibits begins in the morning, with the gala opening at 2pm at North Mundham Playing Field.
Anyone wishing to enter this year’s event needs to refer to the schedule – which can be downloaded at www.northmundhamgala.co.uk – to decide which class they want to enter and register their entry at Mundham Village Hall on Tuesday, July 10, between 3pm and 7pm, or send their entries to the show manager.
There is a small fee to enter, which goes towards the cost of the prize money. The show is run on Royal Horticultural Society rules.
