Police search for witnesses to Hunston hit and run

A HIT-AND-RUN collision near Chichester has seen police appeal for witnesses today (February 10).

Emergency services were called to the B2145 between the Whyke and Hunston roundabout at around 5.50pm on Thursday (February 6).

A blue Vauxhall Astra was travelling southbound when it was struck by a silver coloured van travelling northbound.

The van didn’t stop.

The 49-year-old woman from Bognor Regis who was driving the Astra suffered whiplash. Her 10-year-old female passenger was uninjured.

PC Matthew Willcocks said: “Due to the time of day, there would have been many other people around who may have been witness to the incident and may be able to provide important information relating to the offending vehicle.

“Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact police on 101 or email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 1158 of February 6.”
