A SCHEME for 22 homes which faced fierce opposition from residents is set to be considered at appeal.
Developers are appealing Chichester District Council’s decision to turn down the plan for land north of Long Copse Lane, Westbourne.
At the time of its refusal, councillors said it would result in a ‘prominent projection’ of the village into the rural area in a ‘harmful’ way.
Councillors also said the mix of affordable and market housing failed to comply with housing assessments, failing to provide an affordable four-bedroom home.
Members also raised concerns about vehicle access on site and said developers failed to make ‘adequate and proper provision’ for the impact on infrastructure.
Anyone who wants to comment on the appeal should write to The Planning Inspectorate, 3/05 Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN, quoting APP/L3815/A/13/2198341 by July 26.
