Patricia Robinson, 80, of Gilbert Road, Chichester, had her front and back door replaced by Anglian Homes on October 6.

However, Patricia noticed a problem with the fit of the doors after she tried to get back in.

She said: “The key just doesn’t turn in the lock, the door shuts at the bottom but not at the top.

“I’m afraid to go out because if I leave I might not be able to get back in again.”

Patricia, who lives with her son and carer John, said that she has called Anglian Homes a number of times, but with no luck.

“I just cannot put up with it anymore,” Mrs Robinson said.

Colin Harnor, interim head of stock investment at Hyde, which manages the property, said: “In October, we agreed to refit the back door and ordered a new bespoke replacement.

“We explained to the resident that as the door was being specially made for her home, it would take six weeks to be delivered.

“We’ve spoken with the resident to let her know we expect the new door to arrive within the week and aim to book fitting as soon as it is delivered.”
