The potentially life-saving equipment located in the phone box in Grove Lane is no longer there, a spokesman from Petworth Fire Station said on social media.

“If you have any information as to its location please contact [email protected] or contact us here at Petworth Fire Station,” the spokesman said.

In the meantime, a defibrillator is located outside the Co-Op on the Leconfield Hall, at the Hampers Green Community Centre and another is available at the front of the Fire Station.

The spokesman added that it was important to stress that the missing defibrillator may have been removed for the purpose it is there for.

A Petworth Town Council spokesman confirmed it has not yet been located.
