A LOCAL shop has been given a splash of colour by children from a nearby school.
West Dean Stores now proudly has a children’s corner in the tearoom.
Pupils from West Dean Primary School visited on February 10 to leave hand prints on the walls.
“We felt it was a fun and memorable way to make use of an area in the room that is too small for a table, but is now a cosy and colourful children’s corner complete with books, games and cushions,” shop owner Sally Pearmaine said.
“The children were wonderfully behaved, with beautiful manners and lots of giggles.
“Each left with a sweetie bag, a well-washed hand and a big smile.”
Wayne Osborne, who owns the local business Osborne Signs, wrote all the children’s names beneath each handprint.
