Remembrance Services across Chichester

Crowds joined veterans, religious leaders and serving forces personnel for a poignant service on Remembrance Sunday.

The Mayor of Chichester, Councillor Peter Budge said: “I would like to thank the citizens of Chichester who marked the occasion and it was a pleasure to see so many young people in attendance.”

The annual service of remembrance, held by the Reverence Canon Simon Holland of St Paul’s Church, Chichester, took place in Litten Gardens. It was attended by the Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex Susan Pyper, the Mayor and members of the city council, the High Sheriff of West Sussex Denise Patterson, the chairman of Chichester District Council Nick Thomas and the Chairman of West Sussex County Council Pat Arculus.

They were joined by 12 Regiment from Thorney Island.

Town clerk of the city council Rodney Duggua added: “Representatives from the Royal Military Police who hold the freedom of the city of Chichester also provided valuable support.”
