An enforcement notice has been served on the restaurant to remove ovens and extraction equipment from a storage yard area as being in breach of planning conditions.

A spokesperson for Wildwood said the construction of the kitchen ‘was not cavalier’ and there had been a misunderstanding over the permission at the site.

The company representative said the kitchen was ‘clearly shown’ in drawings submitted to the council and the company had been unaware of any covenant on that particular area prohibiting use as a kitchen.

The spokesman said: “Our impression was that we had permission to move the kitchen area downstairs. We will be working to find a solution to it and we will be working to find a quick solution, but the whole problem has arisen because the council okayed some drawings.”

He added that efforts were being made to ascertain exactly how the issue had occured, but could not comment as to if the restaurant intended to appeal the notice at this time.
