IT IS claimed Rolls-Royce employees are putting lives at risk by speeding out of the factory.
Westhampnett Parish Council chairman Bob Holman said at Monday night’s parish council meeting that he had been travelling up Claypit Lane to see one of the cars whizzing out and nearly causing an accident.
“If I had been a few seconds earlier, he would’ve gone right into me,” he said.
“That’s dangerous because people do fly out of there and it seems to be Minis that come out.
“They come flying out there and I’m rather fearful there will be an accident one of these days.”
At the meeting, he asked Rolls-Royce’s representative Nigel Porter to look into the possibility of a new stop sign being put in place to help warn employees leaving the factory they needed to slow down as they approached the roundabout when leaving at the end of the day.
