THE Observer’s Ellie Evans will be running the Great South Run on Sunday, October 27, to raise money for a Felpham boy.
The ten-mile race, in Portsmouth, sees competitors from all over the world take part and it’s a chance for charity and fun runners of all ages and abilities to run alongside elite athletes.
Ellie will be running to raise cash for three-year-old Danny, who has pulmonary atresia with ventricular septial defect – a heart and lung condition which seriously limits his lifespan. Danny, of Allin Way, has been given some two years to live by doctors because of the rare condition, which means his blood lacks oxygen.
Last year the community rallied round to raise funds to send him to Disneyland Paris.
“Any money I raise doing this run will go towards helping Danny enjoy himself while he can,” said Ellie.
You can donate to the Running for Danny fund at the Observer offices in Chichester and Bognor Regis.
