RECEPTION pupils at Seal Primary Academy have been pedalling their way to healthier lifestyles this week.
With the help of a smoothie-maker bike, pupils are having fun while learning about the importance of including fruit in their diets.
Faye Mitchell, reception class coordinator at the Selsey school, said: “Pupils are reading the Gingerbread Man Superhero book.
“Following the children’s interest in superheroes, we have been imagining we could make superhero potions from the super-fruits we eat through making smoothies.”
Pedalling the bicycle drives the blades in the smoothie-maker, which blends the fruit to make tasty drinks.
Matt Batchelor, head teacher, said: “Here at Seal we want to make learning fun and get the healthy message across.
“Our Reception pupils have enjoyed learning about the importance of fruit in our diet, how good it can taste and how much fun you can have making it!”
Seal Primary Academy thanked Inspire Leisure in Felpham, who lent the school the smoothie-maker bike to reinforce and enjoy the message of healthy living.
