Space and serenity beside the seaside in Southbourne

Capturing the essence of coastal living was the focus for the interior designers at Priors Orchard, a new development of two, three and four bedroom homes set in the coastal village of Southbourne, just a few miles from Chichester.

Seaward Properties unveiled its latest show home in January and the first reservations quickly followed.

This quote set the tone, not only for the interior design scheme but also the location of development: ‘A rare commodity in modern life, silence has become a luxury in keeping with our desire to slow down time.’

Rebecca Harris, of Interiors by Dapa, said: “The pace of life is so fast these days, so we wanted to capture some of that calming magic of the shoreline in our design. We chose the freshness of white offset with softer shades of blues and rose gold to add serenity.

“I absolutely love the big floor cushions in the boy’s bedroom which look like giant pebbles from the beach. It’s often the finishing touches of candles, cushions and artwork which really make a show house feel like a home.”

Seaward Properties is based in Chichester and has been building high quality homes in the region for more than 40 years.

Sales and marketing manager Jane Barker said: “We’re delighted with the response to the show home. We’ve also put a great deal of care into the layouts and finishes to create homes to be proud of.”

Seaward Homes has included stairways with oak handrails and glass balustrades allowing light to flood through core of the house, while kitchens come complete with appliances including a dishwasher and every home is fitted with a washer/dryer.

With shops, village schools, a medical centre, station and the south coast nearby, Southbourne offers a superb location for all ages.

Homes currently available to reserve start from £419,500.
