Spacious Chichester townhouse of an exceptional design in an ideal location

Off-street parking, a generous bedroom suite and a wonderfully convenient location all help to set apart a comfortable home in the very heart of Chichester.

3 Jubilee Terrace is a remarkably spacious townhouse set just outside the city’s historic flint Roman walls – the most intact examples of their kind in the South of England.

Vendor Astrid Llewellyn said the house is ‘very special’, thanks to its exceptional design, ample interior and ideal location.

Astrid’s parents-in-law lived at 3 Jubilee Terrace for over 30 years once her father-in-law retired to the south coast after a career in the navy.

Astrid said: “They fell in love with number 3 the moment they saw it, fell up on it … and that was it!

“The house is very well designed across three floors which, according to my mother-in-law, who is now 97, is a very good idea as it helps keep you young. It has a lovely, spacious feeling.

“My parents-in-law previously lived in London, so they were not bothered by the prospect of road noise at all, but in fact their home is extremely well insulated and has double glazing.

“You just need to pop inside and you’ll find out how peaceful it is!”

Astrid said the house feels roomy and cosy throughout, from the wide staircase to the principal bedroom suite, which includes not only its own bathroom but also a dressing room, and has plenty of room for an armchair and a sofa as well as the usual bedroom paraphernalia.

She said: “I think people in their sixties would really enjoy living here as it’s very spacious and comfortable for two people.

“There are two bedrooms, so you can have people to stay, although you could have a third or even fourth bedroom as one is currently an ironing and sewing room and the other was my father-in-law’s study.

“Somebody with teenage children could also live here, as they could be up on the top floor and they’d love being able to walk into town.”

The house is not only a stone’s throw from Chichester Festival Theatre and St Richard’s Hospital, but is also adjacent to a ‘very good’ Co-operative stores.

Astrid said: “They hardly used the car at all, as they could walk absolutely everywhere, but there’s private parking for two cars anyway!”

She said the house includes two little terraces by the front door, which catch the early morning sun.

“It’s great for coffee – my parents-in-law used to sit out there in the evening, too.

“There’s a decent hedge between you and the road, so they kept two sun loungers and some pretty bedding plants out there.”
