THE Novium has been awarded two national architectural prizes at the Civic Trust Awards 2013.

Attracting entries from around the world, the awards aim to recognise the best in architectural design.

More than 260 entries were submitted this year, with 32 prize winners.

Eileen Lintill, Chichester District Council member for wellbeing, leisure and community services, said: “They were up against some of the world’s finest buildings and this is a truly magnificent achievement.”

The museum also won the Michael Middleton Special Award.

Manager Tracey Clark said: “We were particularly honoured for The Novium to receive The Michael Middleton Special Award which recognises excellence for a restoration project or new build within a conservation area. We are very proud of our new museum.”

Architect Keith Williams will be talking about his inspiration for the building at a talk entitled The Novium: A Building on Wednesday, May 8, at 6.30pm at The Novium. Call 01243 775888 to book tickets.
