Teenage drug suspect arrested at Bognor railway station

A BOY has been arrested after drugs swoop at Bognor Regis Railway Station.

The 17-year-old boy from Chichester was apprehended by officers when he arrived by train into the station today (Thursday, May 8).

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply and is currently in police custody for interview and further enquiries.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “With the co-operation of Network Rail and the British Transport Police we closed two of the three pedestrian exit gates for some three hours this morning.

“There was intelligence that drugs may be arriving by train into the town.

“Inconvenience to passengers was minimal, if any, and taxi drivers were still able to ply their trade, although arriving passengers had to walk a few extra yards to reach them for that short period.”
