Corrina Holyoake is a children’s illustrator who has found comfort in art therapy and is now hoping to help others in a similar way.

She launched her business Artypeace earlier this year and started by working with children through workshops.

The next workshop will be on Monday, December 19, from 2pm to 4pm at the Jeneses Art Centre, Linden Road, Bognor Regis.

Corrina, of Falklands Close, was guided down the art therapy route to help with depression and eventually hopes to study the subject in more depth.

“I suffered a huge depression spell last year due to a number of incidents and completely lost myself,” she explained.

“I turned to energy healing and meditation and my whole life turned around. Not only did I find the old positive me, I found the true me and everything suddenly made sense.

“I am a children’s illustrator and artist and this year took the leap of faith of becoming a full-time creative. I am doing things off my own bat and experimenting to see how creativity can help others out there in my own way.

“It has helped me immensely in the past and I now want to use everything I have learned over the years to show others how enjoyable and therapeutic doing something creative actually is.”

Next year, Corrina plans to branch out to hospices and nursing homes to see how creativity can help other age groups and the more vulnerable.

“The children’s workshops have been amazing this year, I have been blessed to have worked at some key local events and all have reassured me that this is the right path for me,” she added.

“My last children’s workshop this year is a Christmas workshop for pom pom pets and decorating homemade Christmas biccies. All I am asking is for £3 to cover hall hire and materials.”
