Excited crowds turned out to see a classic steam engine make a welcome return to West Sussex this morning (Saturday, September 5).
The Battle of Britain Class Pacific 34067 Tangmere steam engine swept through the county on its way to Dorset.
The locomotive left Three Bridges early this morning, stopping to pick up passengers at Haywards Heath and Preston Park, continuing down the West Coastway Line before making further stops at Hove and Worthing.
Lucky train enthusiasts would have caught a glimpse of the majestic engine as it continued its journey between Shoreham and Chichester.
The trip to Dorset was organised by The Railway Touring Company.
This photograph, taken by photographer Eddie Mitchell, shows the locomotive passing through Goring station at 8.32am this morning.
