Storm Ciara: Footage shows road near Petworth blocked by huge tree
A road near Petworth was blocked for some time yesterday afternoon by a huge tree.
The A283 in Egdean was closed both ways by police outside St Bartholomew’s Church from about 1.30pm on Sunday.
Chichester Police tweeted a short video showing the huge tree that had fallen over the road.

Hide AdA spokesman tweeted: “Storm Ciara has definitely made its presence known today.
“Keep safe on the roads and limit your travelling if you can.”
The road was reopened shortly afterwards.
Several trees around the area were uprooted after Storm Ciara swept over Sussex.
In nearby Midhurst, the A286 New Road was blocked by a fallen tree near the junction with Heath field Green, which also took out overhead power cables – read more here.
