Sussex travel bulletin for Tuesday, May 26

Here is what the roads look like across Sussex this evening (Tuesday, May 26).

A police incident earlier today has closed a road in Hove.

According to the AA, Seafield Road is shut both ways between the A259 Kingsway and B2066 Church Road.

Coronavirus travel restrictions have also closed Madeira Drive and Dukes Mound between Palace Pier and Sussex Square in Brighton.

Elsewhere in the county traffic is heavier than normal due to people travelling to Cooden Beach, near Bexhill, on the B2182 Cooden Sea Road at Herbrand Walk.

An accident involving a car and a cyclist on the A2219 Brighton Road around A2004 Southgate Avenue in Crawley has also taken place this afternoon.

The AA said traffic is coping well and the incident took place not far from Southgate Medical Group.

Emergency roadworks are also taking place on the A259 eastbound between the A27 and the junction with the A269 Bexhill West.

Motorists should expect disruption until 4.30pm on June 5.
