TRAVEL UPDATE: A259 reopened after crash

The A259 has been reopened following a collision involving two cars this morning near Climping.

A woman was pulled from one of the cars after fire and rescue services removed its roof, police confirmed.

The female passenger sustained back injuries in the collision, which occured at the A259 junction with Church Lane, near Climping, police added.

Emergency services were called at 10.40am and the A259 Crookthorn Lane was closed for several hours between the B2233 Yapton Road at The Oystercatcher public house, and the Bridge Road roundabout, Littlehampton.

Severe delays were reported in the area, but traffic reports indicate that the road is now clear.
