A DRIVER who died following a collision yesterday (December 3), is believed to have been taken ill at the wheel.
Police said the 90-year-old man, from Chichester, suffered a medical episode, before veering into an oncoming car.
Around 3.10pm the Honda Jazz he was driving in Westhampnett Road collided with a Peugeot 306 coming in the opposite direction
The 63-year-old woman from Selsey driving the second car was uninjured.
The man was taken to St Richard’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police diverted traffic from St Pancras along Spitalfield Lane while the road was cleared.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1512 of 03/12.
