UPDATE: Injured man taken to hospital following Bognor crash

A man in his 40s suffered back and neck injuries after being involved in a crash earlier today.

The accident involved two cars and happened on Chichester Road, just outside the ambulance station, at around 2pm today, Wednesday, July 20.

A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “One ambulance car and one ambulance attended the scene.

“Ambulance crews assisted and treated a man in his 40s for neck and back pain.

“He was immobilised, put in a neck collar and long board to prevent potential further injury, but he was fully conscious when he was taken to St Richard’s Hospital (in Chichester).”

He added that no one else was injured in the crash.

Chichester Road is understood to have been closed in both directions but has now reopened.

It caused delays around the Bognor War Memorial Hospital roundabout and surrounding roads.
