UPDATE: Injured woman pulled from car in A259 crash

Firefighters removed the roof of a car to extract an injured woman from the wreckage of a Honda this morning after a collision on the A259, according to police.

Police said the female passenger sustained back injuries in the collision at the junction between the A259 and Church Lane, near Climping.

Emergency services were called at 10.40am to the incident, which involved a black Vauxhall Astra and the blue Honda Jazz.

The A259 Crookthorn Lane is still closed between the B2233 Yapton Road at The Oystercatcher public house, and the Bridge Road roundabout, Littlehampton.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.

This story has been amended after incorrectly stating the crash was at Comet Corner, apologies for any confusion caused.
