UPDATE: Pedestrian in collision which has closed A27

POLICE have confirmed a pedestrian was involved in the collision on the A27 this morning.

Emergency services are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on the A27 eastbound between Emsworth and Chichester.

The A27 from Emsworth to Chichester is currently shut in both directions.

The incident involving a pedestrian happened at 7.25am this morning (January 22).

Traffic is being diverted at the A27 junction with the A259 at Warblington.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “The road is likely to be closed for another three hours and there is significant traffic congestion from the Hampshire boarder into West Sussex.”

Drivers are asked to be patient or advised to avoid the area if possible.
