And Penny, the last of the three to be born, is doing better, their proud parents have said.

As reported, Rachel Ballard and Kris Moyse’s triplets arrived early at 32 weeks and a day at St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester last Thursday, April 21, the day the Queen turned 90.

While little William and Polly were doing well after their premature birth, Penny had to be transferred to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth for specialist treatment.

In an update on his Facebook page, Kris, 27, said: “So after another day of bouncing between two hospitals news begins to improve.

“As you can see from this pic our little Penny is doing much better. No morphine or antibiotics now. Chest drain is out and pneumothorax is all but gone, just need her lungs to do the last bit now.

“She is still on intubation for the next 24 hours minimum as she decided last night to pull the tube out - little Madame .

“She still needs it for now but will review again in a day or so. Rough estimation of her coming back to SRH is Friday but that depends on not only how she is but available cots at Chichester.

“Meanwhile, William goes from strength to strength showing his sisters how it’s done by no longer needing any O2 and drinking mum’s milk pure through his tube. That’s my boy.

“Polly is still suffering with her sleep apnoea but is improving. She’s still on O2 but is stable and is spending more time with her eyes open than any of them!

“Thank you all so much for the continued love you’re sending our family and for the flowers, cards and presents. There have been some truly surprising and remarkable gifts and we cannot thank you all enough! We can’t seem to go anywhere without someone knowing who we are which is very strange!

Onwards into day 5...”

In an email to the Observer Kris added: “We’ve had so much love and support from everyone following the story I feel almost a duty to keep everyone in the loop with them!

“If you could also mention what an asset the staff at SRH have been and what an incredible job they did on the day. They’ve been amazing throughout and continue to show such love for our family.”
