CONTESTANTS braved the chilly wind on Sunday to take part in the annual pancake throwing at the King’s Arms in Arundel.

There was fun for all the family – and a toddler was one of the stars.

Youngsters and adults alike vied to hurl their pancake as far as possible down the hill outside the pub on Tarrant Street.

Determined young William, aged just two years and two months old, proved he was ahead of the rest in the class for the juniors.

The winning line-up was Daz Carver – taking the crown for the third year running, young Alex Wood, proud dad Gavin with William, Alice and Elise. All the winners from the various age groups were presented with a trophy by the landlord, Charlie.

The King’s Arms is an old-fashioned English pub renowned for its warm atmosphere.
