An elderly man has been taken to hospital in a ‘serious condition’ after an incident on the A29 near Bury this afternoon (Monday, December 28).
A man in his 70s was taken by South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) to St Richards.
It is rumoured he suffered a heart attack.
SECAmb sent two ambulances and a critical care paramedic to the scene after being called at 1.20pm to the incident involving one car and one patient.
Sussex Police also attended.
The A29 is now closed between Whiteways Lodge Roundabout and West Burton Lane.
A diversion is in operation via New Barn Road and Houghton Lane, unsuitable for large vehicles.
