UPDATE: Fire crews extinguish kitchen fire in Aldwick

Fire crews have now extinguished a kitchen fire in Aldwick, West Sussex Fire and Rescue has confirmed.

Four fire engines from Bognor, Chichester, Littlehampton and Selsey tackled the blaze in Micklam Close, after reports of a fire in the ground floor kitchen at 2pm today.

Four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and two jets were used at the two-storey house, a fire spokesperson added.

British Red Cross Emergency Response attended to assist the occupiers.

Firefighters remain at the scene damping down hot spots.
