A MOTORCYCLIST who was hospitalised on Saturday sustained serious injuries, Sussex Police reported today (July 29).
The 22-year-old from Swanley, in Kent, was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital after he crashed into a tree in Hares Lane, on the B2146, in Funtington.
He suffered a suspected punctured lung, a fractured collar bone and bruising when he came off the orange Kawasaki ER6 around 4.30pm.
A police spokesman said his injuries were serious, but not life threatening.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1244 of 27/07.
