A MAN has been taken to hospital after his van crashed into a tree on the A285 near thicket Lane, Halnaker, this morning.
The male driver was trapped in his van and had to be released by West Sussex Fire and Rescue crews attending using hydraulic equipment after the accident, which took place at around 7.50am on Tuesday morning.
The man, whose condition is currently unknown, was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The 12-mile stretch of the A285 between Chichester and Petworth was last week named as Britain’s most dangerous by the Road Safety Foundation.
UPDATE: The driver was taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester with injuries assessed as not serious.
