Katie Miller, matron at St Richard’s Hospital A&E, enlisted colleagues from the department, along with members from Chichester Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and West Sussex Fire and Rescue to take part in the flash mob.

She said before the event: “My mum is one of the main organisers of PZAZZ and we’re a pretty sociable bunch in A&E, so we decided to support the choir and the hospital while coming together to do something fun for the local community.

“We’re hoping a few people will be brave enough to join in too!”

PZAZZ is led by Marc Yarrow best known as resident Musical Director for The Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus featured on the BBC’s Last Choir Standing.

The group, which started in January 2016 and is mainly made up of staff from St Richard’s Hospital, have already raised £2,000 this year for the hospital’s paediatrics department.

Jan, organiser of Pzazz, said: “We love singing, performing and sharing our enthusiasm with others.

“It’s even more special when supporting and raising money for such a worthy cause as bringing the spirit of Christmas into our hospitals.”
