VIDEO: Models take to the catwalk for Chichester’s Got Style

Crowds gathered in Chichester today (April 26) to see the range of stylish clothes that are on offer in the city centre.

With a catwalk outside the Assembly Rooms in North Street, more than 80 models showed off clothes from a number of stores.

Keith and Liz Fielder came from Hayling Island to see the launch of Chichester’s Got Style.

“It’s gone amazingly,” said Liz, “it’s nice to see so many people here.

Keith added: “Considering the models are amateurs, they’re very brave.”

The pair came as one of their neighbours was modelling and they turned out in support.

Mother and daughter Laura and Maureen Preece, by contrast, were unaware the event was taking place until they saw the catwalk.

“It was brilliant and really enjoyable,” said Laura.

“I was really impressed with the mix of different types of outfits.”

The event was created and organised by the city centre partnership, with the city centre manager Kim Long up at the crack of dawn helping to get everything ready.

“For the first ever Chichester’s Got Style fashion show it’s gone incredibly well,” she said.

“Thanks to all the volunteers and businesses that have made it happen. It’s been great fun working with them and here’s to next year.”

The day also saw fundraising for breast cancer and testicular cancer.
