The Royal Military Police returned to their spiritual home today (Thursday, June 16) by exercising their freedom of Chichester.

Four guards of the Recaps paraded through the city to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the first appointment of the Provost Marshal, who is the figurehead of the RMP.

Heavy morning rain cleared for bright sunshine for the lunchtime parade, which stopped for the salute outside The Council House, in North Street, and an address by Chichester Mayor councillor Tony French.
