Fresh from Team GB's huge parades in Manchester and London, Adam Peaty is quite rightly once again basking in the glory of his hugely successful Olympics, where he became Britain's first gold medallist of the games, winning the 100m breaststroke in the Rio pool, but did he always dream of being a swimmer?

The video features Adam and TV presenter Helen Skelton, who watched Adam win gold as part of the broadcast team at the pool in Rio, as they talk about what their childhood dreams were, as they help launch a nationwide competition from Sun-Pat to make dreams come true for a day.

The campaign stems from research recently conducted by Sun-Pat Peanut Butter, which reveals that over half of all Brits believe they would have pursued their dreams further if they had more energy as a child.

The research also reveals that 25% of us gave up on our dreams aged 18-21, citing reasons including not having the energy, fear of failure and work commitments as factors in giving up on their dreams.

Never a nation to give up though, a massive 21m (31%) Brits are still pursuing their dreams as adults, and we have high hopes for our children too, with 56% planning on encouraging them to pursue their dreams.

15.6m Brits have pursued their dreams with a massive 78% of adults believing it is easier for people to follow their dreams nowadays than when they were children.

The survey also asked respondents from different age groups to name what they dreamt of being as children, with traditional, active roles coming out on top:

What 10-15 year olds dream of being:

Football player

Teacher

Popstar

Writer

Vet

What adults dream of being:

1. Football Player

2. Nurse

3. Teacher

4. Pilot –

5. Police Officer
