THE FUTURE of a village’s ‘green lung’ hangs in the balance, as an inspector decides the outcome of a planning inquiry.
A 22-home development has been proposed for a field off Long Copse Lane, in Westbourne.
Initially refused earlier this year, the decision by Chichester District Council was subject to an appeal by Southcott Homes, which concluded on Thursday.
Residents hired a lawyer to represent them at the inquiry.
Her services were paid for entirely by the village and not by Westbourne Parish Council, as was initially reported in last week’s account of the inquiry.
