Witnesses sought after fatal crash near Chichester


Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal car crash at Westhampnett near Chichester on Sunday morning (May 8).

A 62-year-old man died when his silver Vauxhall Astra left the road and collided with a hedge at the Westhampnett Resort Hotel roundabout just before 9.50am yesterday.

The man from Prinstead, West Sussex, was confirmed dead at the scene at the junction of Madgwick Lane and Stane Street, Westhampnett.

No other vehicle or person was involved, according to police.

Emergency services including paramedics attended.

Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact Sussex Police via collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting Operation Barran.
