A joy to behold

Thanks to winning a recent Observer competition, I have just enjoyed a magical evening at the Festival Theatre watching Singin’ in the Rain – a wonderful adaptation of one of the best movie musicals of all time.

The three leads, Adam Cooper, Scarlett Strallen and Daniel Crossley, in the roles made famous by Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O’Connor, were all excellent, as were the ensemble cast and crew.

A special mention must also go to the orchestra and musical director Robert Scott.

The energy, enthusiasm and expertise of the entire cast and production was a joy to behold.

There is nothing quite like quality live theatre to make you realise this country has an abundance of real talent. I’m glad I took my umbrella !

My 13-year-old daughter was spellbound.

More of the same next year please, CFT!
