A public challenge

A couple of months ago you kindly published my consultation response to WSCC over these 20mph proposals for Chichester; which I support in principle.

However, my main point was it would be a waste of public money without both adequate police enforcement and self-enforcing physical speed calming measures.

Based on other higher priorities for the police and the totally inadequate enforcement currently in West Street, it would seem we will continue to have minimal enforcement.

It is also clear the funding being made available will just about cover signing costs throughout.

On behalf of like-minded residents I should be grateful therefore if you will publish this letter to publicly challenge WSCC to state the measures that they consider will make this scheme work.
