No merit to artwork

OUR cathedral stands in homage to our creator, representing as it does the best of man’s abilities given the skills and materials available at the time of building.

In praise of God we offered the best we could. To try to do our best is the driving force that powers Christianity on through the ages.

What then are we to make of this dumbed-down attempt to invade the Christian scene feebly armed with a one coat-finished, plywood cut-out, depicting two winged objects flying about? Devoid of any artistic merit, save for the rumour that some people like it, and cheap in construction, what is the motivation behind offering the least we are capable of to the further glorification of God?

If all genuine talent is under house arrest, it’s time we staged a rescue bid.
