Questioning the capabilities of the Highways Agency

I am amazed at Arun District Council’s local plan and the quality of its strategies and detail.

They plan an A29 bypass through the Six Villages, from Lidsey to Fontwell, at a financial cost of over £50m and an immense cost to the environment and communities it will devastate.

The expensive consultants’ report of 164 pages includes feedback from the Highways Agency to the proposal. Staggeringly it says just ‘That sounds okay’.

Is it any wonder that I am not alone in saying ‘No, Arun, your plan is not okay!’ and questioning the capabilities of the Highways Agency who boobed again last week with their closure of the Oving lights.
