Sunday charges leave us vulnerable

THE charges proposed by CDC for Sunday parking in the carparks, ie £1 for four hours and £2 for over two hours, at first sight appear quite moderate and one might almost say reasonable.

BUT once paying for Sunday parking became mandatory (and woe-betide that it shall) the council would be at complete liberty to raise the charges as they felt so inclined without the slightest further reference to the wishes of the populace.

Councils have done it before and no doubt will do it again.

(Also it appears that the county council are waiting in the wings to charge for on-street parking on Sunday).

I therefore urge concerned members of the public to spend a few worthwhile minutes attempting to stop these charges by signing the e-petition.
