Commenting on the letter from Alison Congalton, I would like to add my voice to back up her comments on unthinking, uncaring and illegal speeders on the road to Chichester Marina.
A short time ago while entering the marina, we slowed to avoid a family of moorhens on the road. An oncoming car didn’t bother to slow but appeared to speed up and drove straight at them. Most escaped, but one was so badly hurt I had to finish it off. No second chance at Brent Lodge for that young bird whose only fault was encountering a motorist who didn’t care. In 41 years of caring for wildlife I have rarely met a more callous act.
