Chichester pair star on national stage
A pair of Chichester pupils became champions at the National Prep Schools Athletics meeting in Birmingham.
Part of an 11-strong team representing Years six, seven and eight at Westbourne House School, Jack McCulloch won the under-14 300metres, while Jemima Lawrence was victorious in the shot putt.
Head of Westbourne House athletics Jill Howarth said: “Jack and Jemima are two exceptionally-talented athletes who worked really hard for their success and we were delighted when Jack secured a sports scholarship at Seaford College.”
Lawrence was also placed eighth in the 200m and was part of the under-14 relay team, including Lily Harries, Tati Reed and Tilly Hogan, who secured fifth place. McCulloch also achieved seventh in the triple jump, assuring a strong future for Westbourne House at the NPSA meeting.
