After a full winter programme of social events, Crablands Bowling and Tennis Club in Selsey will finish the season with an Easter quiz and supper on Friday, March 31.
The very successful winter programme has included a Burns Night, donkey derby, darts evening, beetle drive, bingo, skittles evening, quizzes and a games evening, which included table skittles, bagatelle and hoop-la, among other things.
Melva Bateman, part of the unofficial social committee, said: “This is the first time we have attempted to put together a comprehensive programme of this sort and thanks to all the members’ participation, it has been hugely successful.
“Next year, we want to introduce even more varied events to our social calendar, perhaps even putting on an old time music hall type evening.”
Crablands would welcome new members. Those who are not inclined to bowl or play tennis are welcome to consider social membership.
It is a privately-owned club, run by members for members. Facilities include three hard tennis courts, one grass court, a six rink bowling green and a sports hall that accommodates four mats for short mat bowls. Members can also enjoy table tennis and short tennis on several evenings a week.
