The launch of the new learning centre marks a significant development for Sussex Cricket. The Learning Centre is situated at the heart of the club and signifies the importance of the Sussex Cricket Foundation’s community provision.

Gwyn Price, Regional Director at Santander, said, “Santander is happy to be involved with the Learning Centre. Sussex Cricket Foundation already does some great work in the community and I’m looking forward to working with them as the programme develops.”

Vanessa Potter, Education, Employability and Skills Manager presented the Sussex Cricket Foundation Education, Employability and Skills Agenda, detailing plans for provision across the county, and said, “2016 will be an exciting year for the Sussex Cricket Foundation. The launch is just the start of an exciting new education offering serving to Sussex residents.

“Partnership is key to our reach into local communities and we are excited to see the community benefits of our work.

In 2015, The Sussex Cricket Foundation supported over 12,500 young people, worked with 7,000 volunteers and 100 unemployed adults.

The SCF are committed to supporting residents across Sussex through offering Education and Skills, and also are fully supportive of the Skills East Sussex thematic priorities, believing that with close ties with 245 Cricket Clubs across Sussex we can have significant reach and impact on residents within Sussex.

There is also a commitment to supporting the Brighton and Hove City Employment and Skills Plan key priorities through the development of the new county-wide Education, Employability and Skills Agenda.
